About Us
Hope, Freedom & Dignity for Cambodian Trafficking Survivors
Our Mission
Ratanak International is a Christian organization that works collaboratively to be a catalyst for transformation in Cambodia through a focus on empowering people experiencing exploitation and addressing the systems that exploit them.
Our Vision
We see a Cambodia where every individual can live in dignity, achieve their full potential
and experience the love and hope of Christ.
Our Values
Christ-Centredness
We believe that Jesus Christ is our source and guide in all we do. We desire to be attentive to His leading and to follow Him courageously as we serve the people of Cambodia. We believe the persistent hope and persevering love of Jesus is transformative. This reality inspires our love for the Cambodian people and motivates us to serve them whole-heartedly.
Relationships
We place a high priority on honouring and serving others both within the organization and in our interactions with supporters, partners and those we seek to empower in Cambodia.
Excellence
We desire to pursue excellence in all we do through a deliberate focus on both integrity and effectiveness.
- Integrity: We are committed to having high organizational standards by being transparent and accountable in all our activities.
- Effectiveness: We seek to be strategic, innovative, sustainable, and contextually sensitive in our approach, evaluating our activities regularly to ensure ongoing expertise and impact amidst the changing environment in Cambodia.
Holistic Transformation:
We believe holistic transformation requires long-term commitment and is achieved through a two-pronged approach whereby we focus on meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of individuals as well as confronting the systemic issues of exploitation in Cambodia.
Collaboration:
We believe in a “better together” approach.
- Empowering Cambodians: We desire to invest in the lives of Cambodians and work together in the transformation of Cambodia.
- Strategic Partnerships: We intentionally seek out working relationships with individuals, organizations and government agencies that enable us to serve more effectively.
Statement of Faith
We accept wholeheartedly the revelation of God given in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and confess the faith therein set forth and summarized in such historic statements of the Christian church as the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed. We here explicitly assert doctrines that are regarded as crucial to the understanding and proclamation of the gospel and to practical Christian living.
The sovereignty and grace of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in creation, providence, revelation, redemption and final judgment. The divine inspiration of Holy Scripture and its consequent entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
The universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the fall, bringing everyone under God’s judgment.
The substitutionary sacrifice of the incarnate Son of God as the sole ground of redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin.
The justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith alone in Christ crucified and risen from the dead.
The illuminating, regenerating, indwelling and sanctifying work of God the Holy Spirit in the believer.
The unity and common priesthood of all believers, who together form the one universal Church, the Body of which Christ is the Head.
The expectation of the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The requirement that the Church be active in establishing and sustaining justice for the oppressed in accordance with the desires of God made clear in Scripture.
